How to Travel to the Villa

Air and Ferry Transportation
Note:
I have found that b) is the least expensive method of getting to the villa.

There are several major airports near the British Virgin Islands, which act as hubs for onward travel to both Tortola, BVI and Virgin Gorda, BVI.  San Juan (SJU) and St. Thomas (STT) are major international airports for North American carriers while St. Martin (SXM) and Antigua (ANU) are major Caribbean destinations for many European carriers.
Many charter carriers and US carriers fly direct to St. Thomas, USVI. WestJet, American/US Air, Jet Blue, Southwest, Air Canada, Continental-United, Lufthansa/Condor and many other regularly scheduled, charter and discount North American airlines have direct flights to SJU and SXM.  Many European carriers also land at San Juan with direct British Airlines service to Antigua from London UK.

Charter carriers such as  Fly BVI, Virgin Gorda Air Charters and Island Birds also make the flight to Virgin Gorda or Tortola from San Juan, St. Thomas or St. Martin during daylight hours (a requirement).  For example Fly BVI will fly from St. Martin into Virgin Gorda.   See www.virgingordaaircharters.com , www.fly-bvi.com, www.airamericacaribbean.com/ , www.bvi-airlines.com/,  http://viairlink.com/ or  http://www.islandbirds.com/   for direct links to their websites.  Booking twin engined planes operated by US government certified charter companies is economical, if you have a group of five or more people arriving at the same time into San Juan or St. Martin.  Virgin Gorda Air Charters' rates are very competitive with Seaborne or Cape Air and you have the added bonus of a plane waiting for you as you arrive in San Juan (even if your aircraft is late).

a) Fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico on a major carrier.  American, Jet Blue, Delta, Spirit, US Air
    1) Connect to Silver Airways or Cape Air and fly from San Juan to Beef Island (EIS), which is the largest airport in the BVI.
From Beef island take a ferry to Virgin Gorda either Speedy ferry to the Valley Virgin Gorda or North Sound Express to Leverick Bay.
    2) Connect to Cape Air or Air Sunshine and fly to the airport on Virgin Gorda (VIJ)

b) Fly to St Thomas USVI on a major carrier.
    1) Take a van taxi from the airport to the ferry dock in Charlotte Amalie (About 10 min)  We can also recommend a private van for larger groups or quicker service.
    2) From the ferry dock, there are several options:
On Tues and Thurs, take Speedy Ferry at 5PM direct to Virgin Gorda (On Sat it leaves at 4PM)
Other days you need to take 2 ferries. The first one leaves the Charlotte Amalie docks at various times (See link provided for ferry schedule) After arriving at Roadtown, Tortola, go thru customs and immigration, then take Speedy Ferry to the valley, Virgin Gorda   Ferry Schedules in the BVI/USVI

There are also several private water taxis that can bring you into (or leave) the BVI.  Contact me for more information.

Rental cars are available from  Car Rental on Virgin Gorda  Select the car(s) you want. let me know and I will reserve it for you. They meet you at your of entry into Virgin Gorda. You pay for the rental on Virgin Gorda with a USA check or cash.  They have the villa keys and a map on how to get there.
